A practical guide to AOD9604

Professor Frank Ng of Monash University in Australia created AOD-9604 (Advanced Obesity Medicine) to identify a fat-burning anti-obesity drug without the muscle-building properties of human growth hormone (HGH).

A tiny area at one end of the HGH molecule seems to influence the fat-reducing effects of the hormone, according to Monash University researchers. Only around 10% of the whole molecule is made up of this area, which seems to have little influence on growth or insulin resistance. Instead of negatively impacting blood sugar levels or growth as found with unmodified HGH, it mimics the way natural HGH controls fat metabolism.

Research

Many studies have shown the lipolytic (fat burning) and anti-lipogenic effects of AOD-96004. Lipolysis (the disintegration or destruction of fat) and lipogenesis (the conversion of fatty dietary items into body fat) are both stimulated and inhibited by AOD-9604, much as Growth Hormone is. Recent clinical trials have revealed that AOD-9604 reduces mid-abdominal body fat in both obese and overweight adults, as well as in those of average build.

AOD-9604 liberated fat from obese fat cells, but not from lean ones, in laboratory testing on rats, pigs, dogs, and humans. It also decreased new fat formation in all fat cells and increased fat burning. Rats and mice were treated with AOD-9604, which lowered body fat levels without increasing growth (since it does not raise IGF levels) or any other undesirable consequences of human growth hormone. Research on its human effectiveness is still ongoing. Research suggests that AOD-9604 has no effect on human body composition in general.

Other recent studies have demonstrated that AOD-9604 has regeneration qualities related to growth hormone in conjunction with its fat loss effects. AOD-9604 is now being tested for its use in osteoarthritis, hypercholesterolemia, and the healing of bone and cartilage.

Unlike HGH, AOD-9604 had no deleterious impact on carbohydrate metabolism, according to the results of an oral glucose tolerance test. None of the patients tested for antibody levels had any anti-AOD-9604 antibodies. AOD 9604 was not associated with any withdrawal symptoms or major side effects in any of the research investigations.
